Best Buy laptop deals: how to find the best discounts on Dell, HP, and Acer models

Even with the discount, the price might be a bit too high to consider it one of the best laptops for students, but those serious about their gaming, and visual quality in general, will love this machine!

Best Buy laptop deals: save big on Dell, HP, and Acer

Our Cyber Monday gaming laptop deals live coverage is the most up-to-date way of seeing what sorts of discounts and savings are out there on portable PC gaming devices. We'll be updating this blog regularly with some of the best deals as we find them over the Cyber Monday sales. If you've had your eye on a particular gaming laptop, or you've been in the market for one, we'll be able to help you. Whether you're after a more modest, low-spec gaming laptop, or a portable beast that packs PC power into a travel-sized package, we're seeing plenty of offers that might be for you.

We've seen lots of Lenovo IdeaPad gaming laptop deals over Black Friday and the weekend, and this one from Amazon UK is still going into Cyber Monday. This discount saves you 150 (opens in new tab) on a gaming laptop that comes equipped with a RTX 3060 graphics card, 8GB RAM, and a 512GB SSD - a good package at this price point that should be able to run most games fairly well. If you've got the budget, this'll make a great portable PC gaming device without breaking the bank too much.

This Dell G15-5511 gaming laptop deal for Cyber Monday saves you 121 (opens in new tab) on a pretty solid laptop. Though last time we checked, there were only 15 left in stock, so you may need to act fast. Equipped with an Intel Core i7-11800H CPU, NVIDIA RTX 3060 graphics cards, and 16GB RAM, this portable machine should be able to run a good range of games, and you'll store them all on the onboard 512GB SSD. If you've got the budget for a gaming laptop nearing 1,000, this is a great starting point.

This ROG Strix SCAR 15 Gaming Laptop is well-equipped enough that it should be able to competently run lots of games for a long while. That's largely due to its Nvidia RTX 3070Ti GPU, but it'll also store lots of games on its 2TB SSD - we've not spotted many laptop deals with SSDs this big, so it'll be good to have this much storage right off the bat. This Cyber Monday deal saves 400 (opens in new tab) on a relatively high-end gaming laptop, so it's well worth considering, particularly if you're in the market for an upgrade.

This gaming laptop from MSI isn't much to compared to some of the others we've featured, but this is a fantastic entry-level deal that saves you $150 (opens in new tab) and brings the price below $500 - that'll help you get into portable PC gaming without breaking the bank. The MSI GF63 Thin 11SC-693 comes with a Nvidia GTX 1650 graphics card and 8GB DDR4 RAM, and a comparatively small 256GB SSD, but this all means it's an ideal gaming laptop for smaller games that can easily be played on the go.

Most Chromebooks are already affordable without a discount, but the best Chromebook deals right now will help you save up to $400 on premium and budget models. We're not just talking about older configurations here, either. With manufacturers getting ready to roll out new models, some of last year's best offerings have also gotten a price cut.

Sub-$200 options aren't always the best when it comes to laptops and Chromebooks. But this 14-inch option from Asus is worth a look, thanks to its 1080p display, Intel UHD integrated graphics inside and SD card reader. More for basic computing necessities than demanding workloads, it's a capable yet inexpensive option for the budget-minded and those who don't need a lot from their laptop.

Samsung's Galaxy Book laptops are some of the best around despite them not being quite as well-known as the likes of Dell, HP, and Lenovo. They're built to a high standard, they have gorgeous displays, and they come with modern performance hardware. They're also super slim, making them an excellent choice for those on the move. And while the price is usually somewhere within the mid-range area, Amazon's Prime Day has a huge discount right now on the Galaxy Book Pro 13.

Acer's Predator Triton 500 SE is a powerful gaming beast. This laptop configuration includes some of the best silicon, including Intel's Core i9-12900H processor and Nvidia's mobile RTX 3080 Ti graphics, all packaged inside a notebook with a 16-inch display, WQXGA resolution, and a 240Hz refresh rate screen. Typically, this laptop will set you back $3,000, but Amazon is discounting the Predator Triton 500 SE by 15% for Prime Day, so you'll only need to spend $2,549 to get this notebook. Other notable features include 32GB of LPDDR5 memory, a 1TB SSD, and Wi-Fi 6E support. The Prime deal also includes a carrying case to safely transport your mobile gaming rig.

This is the best Yoga laptop in Lenovo's roster, so it doesn't normally come cheap. However, right now at Best Buy you can save $500 off the regular $1,750 price, bringing it down to just $1,250. This specific model has inside an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD. The display? Nothing less than 3840x2160 (4K UHD) with excellent color reproduction, inking, and touch.

The XPS 13 is one of our favorite laptops around, and the 9310 model is one of the best (I'm even using it to write this entry). It's thin, it's solid with an aluminum chassis, and it's pretty much flawless in every other way. Dell's Black Friday in July sale currently has it down to $1,294 from the regular price of $1,920. That's a total savings of $626.

Samsung doesn't ever go crazy with its pricing, but you can right now save $200 off this great laptop at Best Buy's Black Friday in July event. That brings the total price down to $1,050, which will no doubt be quite tempting for anyone who wants one of the best convertibles on the market today. Check out our Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro 360 15 review for more information.

Perhaps the best part is the 12th Gen Intel Core i7-1255U CPU with tons of power, backed up by dual-channel 16GB DDR4 RAM and a 512GB M.2 PCIe SSD. This laptop is usually priced at about $950, but it's currently $160 off for Amazon Prime members. That brings the total down to $790.

The 15.6-inch FHD display has a 144Hz refresh rate, which is perfect for this level of performance hardware. There are a ton of ports, including Thunderbolt 4, USB-A, HDMI, microSD, and more, making it easy to connect your favorite accessories. This is one of the best RTX 3060 laptop on sale for Prime Day, discounted by 24% for Prime members. That brings the total down from $1,399 to $1,060, a savings of $339.

The 13-inch MacBook Air from 2020 is still one of the best laptops around (9/10, WIRED Recommends). It was the first from Apple to ditch Intel chips for the company's very-own M1 processor. Even with the new MacBook Air and its M2 processor (see above), this older version is just as appealing considering it's frequently available for $900 or less (especially with the education discount).

The Lenovo IdeaPad 330S is a super well-rounded laptop that's suitable for both work and pleasure. It's got a killer display, speedy processor, and maintains an impressive battery life. Grab one on Amazon and save yourself $101.

Inspiron laptops are really great computers and this one is a 2-in-1, meaning it doubles as a tablet for even more ways to use it. It has pretty low storage capacity, so this is not the best option if you need to save a bunch of large files. But for basic use, it's a nice choice.

Every gaming laptop here is one that we have personally tested. That means writing on them, browsing on them, watching video, and most importantly gaming on them. That experiential take on how good a machine is to actually use is vital when it comes to making recommendations on the best gaming laptop.

The best gaming laptop is a thing of rare beauty. A piece of PC gaming hardware that's as sleek and portable as it is powerful. We're at a point in PC tech where you can genuinely have desktop gaming performance in a notebook less than an inch thick and as small as 14-inches.

We test dozens of gaming laptops every year. The ones that make it to the list provide the best bang for your buck. They offer your budget the best balance of performance, price, and portability. We list our favorite gaming laptop series as well as the best configs for each of our entries.

The latest spin of the Razer Blade 15 once again improves on one of the best gaming laptops ever made. It has the same gorgeous CNC-milled aluminum chassis as its predecessor, only this time it can house one of Nvidia's latest RTX 30-series GPUs and an Intel 12th Gen Core i9 CPU.

One of the best things about the Blade 15 is the number of configurations (opens in new tab) Razer offers. From the RTX 3060 Base Edition to the RTX 3080 Ti Advanced with a 144Hz 4K panel, there's something for almost everyone. It's one of the most beautiful gaming laptops around and still one of the most powerful.

Whatever config you pick, we think the Razer Blade 15 is the overall best gaming laptop on the market right now, though you will be paying a premium for the now-classic design. It may also be the last of its breed, as the Blade 16 is only slightly larger because it has a far smaller bezel around the display; I would expect Razer to discontinue the 15-inch version sooner rather than later.

I am mighty tempted to push the Razer Blade 14 further up the list, simply because the 14-inch form factor has absolutely won me over. The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 in the No. 2 slot reintroduced the criminally under-used laptop design, but Razer has perfected it. But also charged a heavy premium for the privilege... which is why it's down here in our list of the best gaming laptops.

We loved Acer's Predator Helios 300 during the GTX 10-series era, and the current generation Helios still manages to punch above its weight class compared to other $1,500 laptops. It may not be the best gaming laptop, but it's one of the best value machines around. 2ff7e9595c
